During the covid lockdowns of 2020-2021, Gent Bougement commissioned a few choreographers to create a dance solo to offer it to one person or a small group.
It began with a conversation between the choreographer and his recipient, of past and present life, of life during and between lockdowns, of music, love, future hopes and plans… This story inspired a choreography, set on the favourite music. The choreography became a very personal dance solo, as a gift.
.
Bérengère Bodin admired Daniëlle since their first meeting. After a life full of travels and incredible adventures, Daniëlle currently lives in Ostend. Most of her friends stayed in Italy during the pandemic. While Daniëlle herself couldn’t reach Italy due to Covid. Full of love for dance, she was a fan of Pina Bausch, with a lot of knowledge and great cultural baggage, she entrusted her life story to Bérengère. To the tunes of Bach and Mina, and with Pina’s ‘De Nelken Line’ in mind, Bérengère transformed Daniëlle’s enormous resilience and love into a dancing version of her life.
