What can we do with oneself in a world that increasingly denies us ? Caught between absurdity and tangible reality, a woman in a suit is about to present a show. It is what it is is at once a reflection on the individual’s place in society, a playground for language, and a cry from both the heart and the body.
If dictatorship speaks only one language, this monologue written by Lou Grivac honors the way words intertwine, how they expose, defend, disturb, and poetize.
It celebrates movement, the urgency to dance, and the irrepressible need to speak. Through a rhythmic and visceral performance, the piece explores themes of censorship and freedom.
Should I stay polite, or should I let it fall apart ?
Once things are said, once things are done, there is no turning back.
